Russia’s Top Sunflower Seeds Rail Shippers, H2 2025
Grain On-Line has released its official ranking of the top 20 sunflower seeds rail shippers within Russia for the second half of 2025 (July–December). The rating highlights the key logistics and elevator companies moving volumes from production regions toward domestic processors and export corridors.
Aston food products and food ingredients – Povolzhye LLC secured the top spot, confirming its role as the leading domestic rail shipper of sunflower seeds over the period. Rubicon LLC ranked second, while Khlebnaya Baza No. 39 LLC came in third, rounding out a top three dominated by established inland logistics and storage operators.
The upper tier of the table is populated largely by regional elevators. Kamensky Elevator LLC placed fourth, followed by Karasukhleboprodukt LLC in fifth and Arbuzovsky Elevator LLC in sixth. Mid-ranking positions were taken by long-standing facilities such as Polovinnovsky Elevator OJSC (seventh) and Kulunda Bread Products Plant OJSC (eighth), underlining the importance of regional storage and handling hubs in keeping sunflower seeds moving by rail.
Further down the list, logistics-focused Yuzhnaya Transport and Forwarding Company LLC reached twelfth place, indicating a growing role for dedicated transport providers in coordinating grain flows. Processing-oriented operations also appear, including JSC Siboleum in fourteenth place. Regional players such as CJSC Europe-Kaliningrad (eighteenth) and OJSC Isilkulsky Elevator (twentieth) complete the top 20, reinforcing the geographic spread of sunflower seed rail movements across Russia.
Market and Logistics Implications
The composition of the ranking underscores how elevator operators and grain handling companies continue to dominate Russia’s domestic sunflower seed logistics. Their prominence indicates robust inland rail infrastructure and storage capacity, which can influence how quickly product is repositioned from interior regions to export terminals.
Strong domestic rail activity in July–December typically reflects heightened demand from crushing plants during and after harvest, as well as strategic repositioning ahead of export programs. For Black Sea market participants, tracking these leading shippers offers an early read on regional supply tightness, crush margins, and the timing and scale of sunflower seed and oil export flows from Russian origins in the months that follow.
